Power Only Lease-On FAQs

Specific questions about leasing on with a power only.

How does power-only work without a trailer?

You arrive at a shipper, pick up a pre-loaded trailer from their pool, run it to the destination, drop it, pick up another loaded trailer for your next leg. You never own the trailer. Amazon Relay, FedEx Ground, and major retailers all run trailer pools.

How much do I save without a trailer?

A typical 53-ft trailer costs $25–40k new (or $300–600/month financed) plus $200–400/month in maintenance, registration, and insurance. Power-only saves you $800–1500/month versus owning your trailer.

Can I switch between power-only and dry van?

Yes. Many owner-operators start power-only to save startup costs, then add a trailer once they've built capital. We can transition you between programs.
